Our History
Huli'tun Health Soceity has originally opened in 1994; currently, Huli'tun Health Society provides health services to the Halalt First Nation and Lyackson First Nation community members.
The head office is located in the traditional territory of Halalt First Nation.
Huli'tun is governed by a Board of Directors whose members are appointed by the Chief and Council of each member community. The board meets once a month to provide strategic direction to the Health Director who oversees the operation of Huli'tun.
Huli'tun Health Society sat with elders to properly change the spelling of what was once H'ulh-etun Health Society to change it to Huli'tun.
The spelling in Hu'q'umi'num is very important which had an entire different meaning. Huli'tun means (life healer or healer of life); therefore, throughout the year 2019 the organization started the transition with all organizations affiliated on all documents with the the corrected spelling.
